I offer Custom portrait paintings or block prints from your photos, or your imagination. I’d be happy to discuss how we can make your vison come to life.

So you want to commission a custom painting? Here’s how my process works: First you let me know what you’d like a painting of, your child, spouse, pet, cabin, a sunset, favorite animal, favorite flower, etc), If I feel like I would be a good fit for your project we will move on, If I don’t think I am the right person to create this artwork for you, I will point you in the right direction.

After we agree to go ahead with the commission, I require a 50% non-refundable down payment, (if for any reason you’d like to postpone your commission this money can be used towards it in the future.)

Now it’s time for the fun part! If you have a specific photo for me to reference, or if you have a pile of them and can’t decide, send them my way, we can talk about what you’d like to achieve, and which image would be the best for me to work from. If you want me to take reference photos this is something I would be happy to do for an additional charge.

Once we agree on an image I will get started with the painting. I’d love to share the process with you, and can create a timelapse, or send you work in progress photos as I go. Before I finalize a painting, I will check in to make sure there are no last-minute changes needed. I will let the painting dry, and I will seal it with a protective varnish. Once this is done I can ship it to you, or we can meet to pass the painting off face to face. The remainder of the balance, taxes, and shipping are due at this time.

Pricing is a huge factor to consider when purchasing a custom piece of artwork. Currently my rates are at $4.00/ sq inch. I do not paint faces on panels smaller than 8x10”. I also charge MN state Sales tax of 6.875%, as well as shipping if you choose to have your finished painting shipped to you. There are additional costs for rush orders, private photo sessions etc.
